An experimental saffron cultivation project in Ladakh's Leh region recorded its first bloom within 30 days, much earlier than the usual two months. Nearly 22 grams of saffron were harvested in the first four days of flowering. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena inspected the field, which has about 90,000 saffron corms planted over 4,000 square meters of restored degraded land.
