Russia Enforces Quarantine After Suspected Bubonic Plague Death
Russian officials have imposed quarantine measures following the suspected death of a laboratory worker from bubonic plague. Around 200 people are being monitored for possible exposure. The plague primarily spreads through flea bites or contact with infected animals. While treatable with antibiotics, the pneumonic form is more dangerous due to direct human-to-human transmission.
