Russia Downs Nearly 500 Drones After Ukraine Truce Ends
On November 3, 2026, Moscow's mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that Russian air defense systems shot down nearly 500 drones targeting the capital. This followed the end of a rare truce in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson on November 1, which had allowed a humanitarian mission to Oleshky. After the ceasefire ended, Russia attacked a village in Zaporizhzhia, killing at least 26 people. Cyber attacks also affected both Russia and Ukraine post-truce.
