HealthRussia denies second plague case amid outbreak concerns
Russia has denied reports of a second plague case in Siberia following the death of a 28-year-old female laboratory worker in Irkutsk. Authorities called much media coverage false and said she did not die from plague. The WHO has requested more information about her illness and a possible second case. Russia's health regulator reported no dangerous pathogens found in nearly 5,000 tests and no plague cases among contacts.
