The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) implemented restrictions from October 12 to reduce dollar demand and curb speculative trading in the currency market. Following these measures, the Indian Rupee rose sharply by over 1% against the dollar, reaching 95.74 from Friday's close of 96.73. The rupee also showed strong performance against other Asian currencies despite earlier losses this year due to rising crude oil prices and other pressures.
