The Indian rupee appreciated for the fifth consecutive session on Thursday, closing 12 paise higher at 95.05 against the US dollar. This gain was supported by the Reserve Bank of India's structural forex interventions and the unwinding of long dollar positions. Despite the gains, external macroeconomic pressures may limit further appreciation. The rupee has gained 183 paise in the last five sessions.
