Rubin Observatory Discovers Two Hidden Neighboring Galaxies
The Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile recently discovered two previously hidden neighbors of the Milky Way galaxy. One is a faint galaxy named Aquarius IV, located 355,000 light-years away. The other is a star cluster called Rubin-GC1, which was obscured behind cosmic dust. These findings reveal new nearby celestial objects previously undetected.
