PoliticsRs 1,800 Crore Compensation Disbursed for Bidadi Township; Protest Crosses 570 Days
The Greater Bengaluru Development Authority (GBDA) has disbursed over Rs 1,800 crore in compensation to landowners for the proposed Bidadi township project. Out of 1,280 farmers who applied, 816 have received payments, including Rs 1,236 crore in cash and Rs 564 crore in residential sites covering 250 acres. The farmers' protest against the project has crossed 570 days. Compensation distribution began on August 1 and continues weekly.
