Royal Navy Sailor Charged for Spying for Russia Under UK Security Act
Able Seaman Teddy Young, a 24-year-old Royal Navy warfare intelligence specialist, has been charged under the UK National Security Act for allegedly preparing to pass sensitive defence and intelligence information to Russia. The charges relate to retaining protected UK material and attempting to disclose it to benefit a foreign power between November 2024 and May 2025. Young was arrested in Bedfordshire by counter-terrorism police.
