The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has requested the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) to conduct a forensic security audit of its VAHAN, SARATHI, e-Challan, and PUCC portals. These portals manage vehicle registration, driving licenses, traffic violations, and pollution certificates. This action follows reports of vehicle data being sold via apps and websites for as little as ₹5. The Ministry also seeks intervention from the Ministry of Electronics and IT to review and strengthen data-sharing policies.
