Indian retail investors borrowed ₹2,228 crore ($234.06 million) to buy Jio Platforms shares on its debut day, making it the fourth-largest margin-funded stock in India. Jio shares rose 26.7% on listing, valuing the company at about $137 billion, India's second-largest by market cap. This surge followed recent retail margin-call liquidations that reduced India's overall cash market margin book to ₹1.51 trillion by October 28.
