BusinessRBI Tightens Daily CRR Maintenance to 99% for Banks
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has tightened the daily cash reserve ratio (CRR) maintenance rules for banks. From October 16, banks must maintain at least 99% of the prescribed CRR daily, up from the previous 90%. The overall CRR ratio remains unchanged. This aims to strengthen daily cash management and ensure more consistent reserve maintenance, impacting banks' liquidity management.
