Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will be placed on injured reserve and undergo right thumb surgery after injuring his thumb on the team's first offensive play against the Buffalo Bills. Ravens coach Jesse Minter said the injury could potentially be season-ending. Jackson injured his thumb when his throwing hand hit a defender's wrist. He returned briefly with a splint but will miss further games. Backup Tyler Huntley was also injured during the game.
