In Kolkata, West Bengal, roads have been painted with bright rainbow colors ahead of Durga Puja, sparking safety concerns after videos showed bikes slipping on the painted surfaces. The colorful paint was applied on flyovers like Chingrighata and Gariahat, along with traditional Alpana art. Opposition and environmentalists warn the glossy paint may increase slipperiness during rain, though the government says safety norms were followed.
