Railway Employees to Receive 78 Days Productivity Bonus

The central government has approved a productivity-linked bonus equivalent to 78 days' salary for 11,40,770 railway employees, costing a total of ₹2,009.61 crore. Each eligible employee will receive up to ₹17,951. The bonus rewards outstanding performance and contributions to improving railway services. Eligible employees include track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers, station masters, supervisors, technicians, pointsmen, clerical staff, and other Group C non-gazetted workers.

Two Arrested for ₹1.7 Crore Fake Jewellery Fraud in Vellore

Two jewellery appraisers at a nationalised bank in Kavanur village, Vellore, were arrested for misappropriating ₹1.7 crore by pledging 1,080 grams of fake gold sovereigns. B. Parthiban and G. Srinivasan created 16 fake customer accounts to carry out the fraud over several years, evading suspicion by pledging small amounts repeatedly. The scam was uncovered during a surprise bank inspection.
