Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman engaged in a verbal dispute over the Tata Group controversy. Gandhi questioned why Tata Trusts and Tata Sons representatives were called to Home Minister Amit Shah's residence for a legal and business matter. He also asked when the government’s close businessman would emerge in the dispute and which parts of Tata he would control. Gandhi said most businessmen, except a few close to the government, are already upset and should not be provoked. This came amid controversy over N. Chandrasekaran's reappointment as Tata Sons executive chairman.
