Punjab Reports Over 3,000 Stubble Burning Cases, Tarn Taran Leads

Punjab recorded 3,144 stubble burning incidents between September 15 and November 6, with Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Sangrur, Bathinda, and Amritsar as major contributors. Tarn Taran had 611 cases, followed by Ferozepur with 410. Authorities imposed Rs 54.55 lakh in environmental compensation and registered 795 FIRs under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against offenders.
