Pune Reports Over 2,000 Dengue Cases in 2024, No Longer Just Monsoon Threat
Pune has recorded more than 2,000 dengue cases this year, with 66% reported between June and September. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) attributes the surge to stagnant water in homes and construction sites, which are breeding grounds for mosquitoes. PMC has intensified checks to control the outbreak as dengue is now a year-round concern, not limited to the monsoon season.
