The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, led by Congress MP K C Venugopal, has initiated privilege proceedings against Chief Secretaries of six states—Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, Odisha, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh—for skipping a scheduled briefing on pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for Scheduled Caste students. None except two sought exemption, but the PAC denied relaxation and viewed their absence as contempt of Parliament. Venugopal has informed Speaker Om Birla and urged action.
