Fresh protests broke out at Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi after the university announced the resumption of student union elections following nearly two decades. Around 100 female students protested, demanding a time-bound election process and appointment of a chief election officer. Several protesters were detained by Delhi Police. Students say the absence of an elected body has hindered addressing issues like admissions and hostel facilities.
