Pro-Ukraine Coalition Wins 35% in Latvia's Election
Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs' pro-Ukraine four-party coalition won 35% of the vote in the October 3, 2026 parliamentary election. Following a political crisis in May over stray drones suspected from Ukraine, the coalition had fallen but was later approved by parliament. Latvia, bordering Russia and Belarus, strongly supports Ukraine against Moscow's invasion and now begins government formation talks.
