The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will not hold a season in 2026, marking the first calendar year without the league since its 2014 inception, except for the 2020 pandemic year. The 12 teams failed to finalize a new media rights deal with broadcaster JioStar, which sought to cut fees by 50% from the previous ₹905 crore contract ending in 2025. Negotiations are ongoing, with franchise owners and JioStar nearing agreement on revenue sharing and minimum guarantees.
