SciencePhoto: Hindu BusinessPrivate Sector to Invest ₹7.5 Lakh Crore in Nuclear Power by 2047
India's private sector is expected to invest around ₹7.5 lakh crore and contribute 30 GW to the country's goal of 100 GW nuclear power capacity by 2047, said Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Ajit Kumar Mohanty. Currently, India has about 9 GW installed capacity. Public sector NPCIL operates 24 reactors, but new legislation encourages private participation, with private players expected to run reactors within five years.
