Pramila Jayapal Wins Re-election in Washington's 7th District

Indian-American Democrat Pramila Jayapal won re-election to the US House of Representatives from Washington’s 7th Congressional District in the November 3, 2026 midterm elections. Jayapal secured 177,700 votes (87.5%), defeating Republican Nirav Sheth, who received 24,654 votes (12.1%). Jayapal, first elected in 2016, represents Seattle and nearby areas and is the first South Asian American woman in the US House.
