Pope Leo XIV said he is in "fairly good shape" following lung cancer surgery last month. At 71, he had a cancerous tumor and part of his right lung removed on October 13 at Rome's Gemelli hospital. He began a 12-day South America tour with a visit to Uruguay. Doctors say he is fit to travel and needs no further therapy. He advised cancer patients not to be afraid and emphasized early detection and regular check-ups.
