Pope Leo XIV Diagnosed with Lung Adenocarcinoma
Pope Leo XIV was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma, a common lung cancer type, after surgery removed the lower lobe of his right lung. This cancer can affect non-smokers and is often hard to detect early because symptoms may be mild or absent. Pulmonary adenocarcinoma develops slowly, making early diagnosis challenging.
