Pompeii Cupboard Yields 38 Coins and Childhood Charms
Archaeologists in Pompeii uncovered a sealed wooden cupboard buried since Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79. Inside were 38 bronze coins, personal care items, and at least 24 small childhood charms. These artifacts offer rare insights into the daily life of a Roman family who likely could not retrieve their belongings during the volcanic disaster, enriching our understanding of ancient Roman domestic life.
