Pentagon Plans Firing Squad Execution for Nidal Malik Hasan
The Pentagon announced plans to execute former Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan by firing squad on December 3. Hasan killed 13 soldiers and injured 31 at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. Sentenced to death in 2013, his execution method was approved by former President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Firing squad executions were historically used by the US Army for military offenses.
