WorldParliamentary Panel Flags NTA Staff Shortage, Proposes New Question Bank
A parliamentary committee report revealed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has 16 vacancies out of 39 sanctioned permanent posts, leaving 41% unfilled. The director general’s post was held as additional charge for nearly two years from June 2024 to April 2026. The 31-member committee recommended permanent recruitment of specialists in exam security, technology, data analytics, and logistics. The report followed the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 due to question paper leaks.
