Over 6.5 Lakh Voters Removed from Belagavi Electoral Rolls

In Karnataka's Belagavi district, 6.58 lakh voters were removed from the electoral rolls following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by the Election Commission of India. The voter count dropped from 41,53,775 in January 2025 to 34,94,913, a 15.8% reduction, higher than the state average of 12%. Each of the 18 Assembly seats saw an average deletion of 36,603 votes. The Congress has criticized the ECI affidavit on SIR as deceitful.
