Osteoporosis: Silent Disease Weakening Bones Without Symptoms
Osteoporosis is a silent disease where bones gradually weaken without symptoms, making them prone to fractures. Around 10% of patients in orthopedic OPDs suffer from it. Factors like alcohol and smoking hollow out bones. About 60% of adults have vitamin D-3 deficiency, contributing to bone weakness. Even minor injuries can cause fractures in affected individuals.
