Opposition Demands Removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar Over Election Commission Dissent
The Opposition has called for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar following dissent within the Election Commission. In the past 10 months, two Election Commissioners have formally objected 14 times to the poll panel's decisions. Political leaders including Tejashwi Yadav and Omar Abdullah have raised concerns about transparency, credibility, and alleged bias in the Election Commission's actions, especially regarding Bihar and West Bengal elections and delimitation issues.
