BusinessOil Prices Surge Above $104 Amid Hormuz Attacks and Hurricane Isaias
Oil prices surged sharply on Thursday due to growing fears over global supply disruptions. Attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz have reduced tanker traffic to its lowest since July 23, raising concerns about oil reaching global markets. Brent crude rose 4.3% to $104.48 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate climbed 4.3% to $92.05. Hurricane Isaias also contributed to supply worries.
