Oil Companies Reject Karnataka Minister's 30% Ethanol Claim in E20 Petrol

Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited have refuted Karnataka government's claim that petrol sold in the state contains 26% to 31% ethanol. The companies stated that their E20 petrol meets the Bureau of Indian Standards IS 17021 specification and questioned the testing methods used by the Karnataka Department of Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology.
