Odisha Engineer Detained with ₹21.89 Lakh in Vigilance Raid

Prasanjit Das, a superintending engineer of Odisha's water resources department, was detained by the state vigilance department after nearly ₹22 lakh in unaccounted cash was recovered from him and his rented flat in Bhubaneswar. He was intercepted near AG Square late Friday night following a tip-off about bribe collection from contractors. ₹7.29 lakh was seized from him during the arrest. Das joined government service in 2016 and was promoted to his current position in the Mahanadi Northern Division, Cuttack district.
