NUS Researchers Use DNA Barcodes to Identify Cancer-Targeting Gold Nanoparticles
Researchers at the National University of Singapore developed a high-throughput platform using DNA barcodes to track and identify gold nanoparticles that effectively deliver therapies to mitochondria in cancer cells. Testing 30 nanoparticle designs in living tumor models, they found two formulations that achieved significant tumor regression, including a folic acid-modified cubic nanoparticle that led to 99% tumor regression in preclinical studies with combined RNA and photothermal therapy.
