WorldNTSB: Miami Amazon Cargo Plane Crash Linked to Missing Wind Warning
A preliminary National Transportation Safety Board report found that an air traffic controller failed to warn pilots of an Amazon cargo plane about strong tail winds before it crashed at Miami International Airport on September 6. The plane overshot the runway, killing five people in a van it struck. Regulations require wind direction and velocity to be communicated, but the controller only warned another flight.
