NTK Functionary Karthika, 11 Others Remanded for Election Code Violation

Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) functionary M. Karthika and 11 other party members were remanded in judicial custody for violating the election code of conduct during the Dharapuram Assembly by-election. Karthika, an unsuccessful candidate, along with her husband Muruga Chandrakumar and others, were arrested for erecting flex banners without permission. Three more members are to be remanded on Wednesday, said Tiruppur police.

21 Protected Turtles Rescued in Madhya Pradesh After Gang Tip-Off

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the State Tiger Strike Force rescued 21 protected turtles following a tip-off from Raunak Juneja, an arrested member of an interstate wildlife smuggling gang. The recovered turtles include 19 Indian Pond turtles and 2 Star Tortoises, both protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Five accused have been arrested so far in the case.
