WorldNSO Survey: Indians Prefer Two-Wheelers for Work, Buses and Trains for Overnight Travel
The National Statistics Office's first all-India National Household Travel Survey reveals that 42.6% of workers use two-wheelers for commuting to fixed workplaces. For overnight and inter-city travel, buses account for 55.8% and trains 17.7%, totaling 73.5%. Conducted from July 2025 to June 2026, the survey covered over 492,000 households and 2 million people, providing data for transport planning.
