North Korea Tests Major Weapon System with Cluster Bomb Warhead

North Korea's state media KCNA reported that defense science research institutes tested a major weapon system designed to assess the combat adaptation and power of a cluster-bomb warhead for tactical ballistic missiles. The test showed a Type 2 cluster bomb warhead can destroy 12 to 13 hectares at maximum density. North Korea plans to enable all cluster bomb types for military use by 2026. Recent missile tests and drone exhibitions indicate efforts to modernize the military.
