North Korea fired an unidentified projectile toward the sea off its east coast, according to South Korea's military. Japan's coast guard believes it was a North Korean ballistic missile that has already fallen. South Korea condemned the launch as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions and held an emergency National Security Council meeting. The launch follows South Korea's recent hypersonic missile test.
