The National Investigation Agency (NIA) plans to request permission from the Indian government to send a team to the UAE to record the statement of Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar and to interact with local investigators regarding the alleged hijacking attempt on Flydubai flight FZ-1073 on September 30. The NIA may also question the arrested Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami. The incident occurred mid-air while flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv, and the NIA is investigating a larger conspiracy behind the attack.
