NHAI Limits Toll Plaza Lanes to 8 to Reduce Land Acquisition
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has mandated that all future national highway projects will have toll plazas with a maximum of eight lanes. This is part of integrating Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling, which uses electronic toll collection on overhead gantries. The change aims to reduce land acquisition needs and save public funds by eliminating multiple toll lanes and booths.
