New Zealand Rejects Indian Sikh Couple's Asylum Claim Over Debt Dispute
A New Zealand immigration tribunal rejected the refugee protection claims of an Indian Sikh couple. They feared threats from an unlicensed Punjab moneylender after a loan of NZ$56,000 (about ₹30 lakh) allegedly escalated to nearly NZ$336,000 (around ₹1.8 crore).
