New York Founder Turns Cancelled Meals into 4 Million Food Donations
The Migrant Kitchen began during the COVID-19 crisis when a cancelled catering order was redirected to provide meals for healthcare workers. It has since grown to serve thousands of culturally relevant meals daily to marginalized communities, employing around 100 mostly immigrant workers. The initiative expanded beyond New York City to Philadelphia, enhancing emergency meal deliveries and addressing food insecurity.
