New York Declares Disaster Emergency Over Measles Outbreak
New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a statewide disaster emergency due to a measles outbreak, with 108 cases reported this year. Since July 15, 92 cases have been identified across 18 counties. Neighboring Pennsylvania reported 977 cases, many in rural counties near the New York border. The order mandates reporting all measles-mumps-rubella vaccinations to state or city immunization registries within 72 hours.
