New Panel Formed to Curb Unethical Pharma Marketing Practices

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers has formed a three-member committee to review and strengthen regulations on pharmaceutical marketing practices. Led by Dr M Srinivas of NITI Aayog, with Preeti Sudan and Dr Naresh Trehan, the panel will enhance oversight to reduce unethical tactics. The committee will assess the Uniform Code for Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices, introduced in 2015 and updated in 2024, to ensure ethical promotion of medicines.
