New LNG Projects May Not Avert Global Gas Shortage This Winter
Global liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies face major challenges due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. The International Energy Agency reports significant declines in LNG loadings from Qatar and the UAE. Consequently, global LNG output is expected to drop by 10 to 25 billion cubic meters this winter. New projects in North America and elsewhere may only partially offset this shortfall.
