The Indian government has notified new aviation rules under the Bharatiya Vayuyan Niyam, 2026, mandating airlines to disclose cancellation charges and refund conditions separately when displaying airfares. These rules, effective from January 1, 2027, also require publication of airline tariffs on digital platforms and monitoring of domestic fares by the aviation regulator. They replace the Aircraft Rules, 1937, and are framed under the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024, which came into force on January 1, 2025.
