PoliticsNepal Deploys 3,500 Police for Festival Security in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Nepal, will deploy around 3,500 police personnel for security during the Vijaya Dashami, Deepawali, and Chhath festivals. The Kathmandu District Police Range Chief, Dilip Ghimire, announced uniformed and plainclothes deployment to address theft, fraud, robbery, and public misbehavior. Security will focus on crowded areas, transport hubs, and markets, with intensified checks, sniffer dogs, and CCTV surveillance. A 13-point safety advisory has also been issued for travelers leaving the Valley.
